Graduation Pains

I can’t believe it’s not butter, I mean [GRADUATED] a little over a week ago. I mean, I still can’t believe it. It really didn’t seem like much, actually. I literally was just going through the motions: going to the venue, waiting for centuries to finally wait some more, listen to some horrendous speaker talk about futures/our potential/how proud we should be, yada yada yada.

Seriously, ~~graduation~~ is pretty stupid. Who said it was awesome to arrive hours before the actual ceremony started? Who said it was a great thing to make your family and friends to sit through the whole thing only to get excited about you walking up to get that piece of paper (not EVEN your actual diploma)?

I probably won’t believe it until:

I get my diploma in the mail, and
I find out something from TFA (this Wednesday :o) so I can actually “start” my life.

In the meantime, I think a lot of R&R is in order. And, I’m totally fine with that, I deserve it! All recent grads deserve it. Go celebrate your handwork and treat yo’ self (until life starts calling again!).

Doing you is basically what all anyone ever needs to do. As long as you do you you can’t complain about anything. If one is ever stuck in a dilemma or in a toss up, just say fuck it, “I’m going to do me.” Doing you is when you lose all regard for other people’s opinions and are finally at peace with yourself. No one can ever hate on someone else for doing them; unless while in the act of doing them one impedes on others. You can’t do you if it is going to have negative effects on others or the community. As long as doing you is chill then ain’t no one going to stop you. One can not hate on someone for doing them, they can have opinions but after it is all said and done respect must be given for anyone doing them.

i say rude ass things. i’m an honest person. but under no circumstance, especially now, do i deserve this. it defies all my laws of respect. obviously, something he doesn’t have. i’ve tired my hardest to be calm and cordial, thinking that, hey, maybe he just doesn’t know what’s going on. maybe it’s because “he’s foreign”. but, all semesters of TAing for professors ~~very foreign~~, allowed me to realize one thing: Nobody is worth it. just send they ass to the Honors Council. they knew what they were getting into. #noexcuses

ugh, here we go again. i like to call it the “correspondences of shame” (COS). in particular, the COS can be summarized as a ping-pong match between equally skilled, professional players. both know the same techniques and tactics to win the match… however, only against a player that is less skilled.

it is long. it is drawn out. plain and simple: nobody wins. whats more is that as the match prolongs, each player starts to question why they are even playing the game in the first place. if no one wins, no one can proving their superiority.

what drives each player to keep themselves in the match?

is it the glory? will this be their chance to gloat and bask in the lime light as the other player is left to deal with the jeers and sneers from the crowd.

is it their perseverance? they might think, now this, this is my chance to prove myself. i will show them and everyone else that they are wrong!

or, maybe, the players both give a shit. it matters to them more than the glory because it’s a part of them and it’s who they are. if we didn’t give a shit about anything, ~~we won’t care~~ enough to fight.
